Symbolism

Ultramarine blue and Air Force yellow are the Air Force colors. Blue alludes to the sky, the primary theater of Air Force operations. Yellow refers to the sun and the excellence required of Air Force personnel. The wedge shaped pile signifies the sun and the sharp point represents the accuracy of the Wing's deliveries, and the pile is also a stylized lightning bolt to show how rapidly the unit responds to any contingency. The motto, "Virtus Perdurat," translates in English to "Courage Will Endure."
