Description/Blazon

On a disc Azure, a flight symbol with four contrails throughout per bendwise sinister, flight symbol Smoke and contrails Argent (Silver Gray) between in dexter chief an open book leathered of the second, pages of the third surmounted by a quill pen per bendwise sinister Or, in base three stacks of coins two and two of the last, all within a narrow border Yellow.

Attached above the disc, a Blue scroll edged with a narrow Yellow border and inscribed "FINANCING THE FIGHT" in Yellow letters.

Attached below the disc, a Blue scroll edged with a narrow Yellow border and inscribed "78TH COMPTROLLER SQ" in Yellow letters.


Symbolism

Ultramarine blue and Air Force yellow are the Air Force colors. Blue alludes to the sky, the primary theater of Air Force operations. Yellow refers to the sun and the excellence required of Air Force personnel. The flight symbol and contrails pertain to the courage, patriotism, strength, valor and air power of the unit. The book represents wisdom, prudence and truth. The quill is for the strength, fortitude and excellence of the unit. The coins allude to the reliable and accurate financial services provided by the unit in managing funds used for Air Force capabilities.
