Description/Blazon

On a disc Azure, arched to dexter chief seven mullets Argent, a delta point to sinister chief with two expanding contrails bendwise sinister Gules, overall a quill pen in bend, all within a narrow border Or.

Attached above the disc, a Blue scroll edged with a narrow Yellow border and inscribed "REQUIREMENTS INTO REALTY" in Yellow letters.

Attached below the disc, a Blue scroll edged with a narrow Yellow border and inscribed "72D CONTRACTING SQUADRON" in Yellow letters.


Symbolism

Ultramarine blue and Air Force yellow are the Air Force colors. Blue alludes to the sky, the primary theater of Air Force operations. Yellow refers to the sun and the excellence required of Air Force personnel. The stars indicate the high standards and requirements adhered to by the unit. The delta and contrails signify the ties to Air Force acquisitions. The quill pen is a traditional symbol of contracting and refers to the overriding importance of the unit mission.
