Symbolism

Ultramarine blue and Air Force yellow are the Air Force colors. Blue alludes to the sky, the primary theater of Air Force operations. Yellow refers to the sun and the excellence required of Air Force personnel. The master key symbolizes the Squadron's ability to unlock enemy capabilities and determine their intentions. The Knight represents the intellectual tools necessary to fight and win our nation's wars. The rotating spear demonstrates the unit's ability to adapt to emphasize any of its many mission areas precisely when and where needed--putting intelligence "at the tip of the spear" to enable a decisive victory against any adversary, anywhere in the world.
