Description/Blazon

On a disc Azure, in front of a globe of the field gridlined and edged Argent, fimbriated Or, a pair of stylized wings displayed Tenné, surmounted with a silhouetted chess piece of a knight Sable, all within a narrow border White.

Attached above the disc, a Blue scroll edged with a narrow White border and inscribed "ENSURING INFORMATION DOMINANCE" in White letters.

Attached below the disc, a Blue scroll edged with a narrow White border and inscribed "56th IWF" in White letters.


Symbolism

Ultramarine blue and Air Force yellow are the Air Force colors. Blue alludes to the sky, the primary theater of Air Force operations. Yellow refers to the sun and the excellence required of Air Force personnel. The chess piece, a symbol of tactical war, alludes to the nature of information warfare. The wings and globe symbolize the far-reaching ability of the unit, enabling the warfighter to have control of the information spectrum.
