Description/Blazon

On a disc Sable, issuing from base a demi-globe Azure with landmasses Gold Brown, to chief a bald eagle stooping Proper, emanating to base from under talons and surmounting the globe four lightning bolts arched outward and mirrored with two and three diminished Or, all within a narrow border Yellow.

Attached above the disc, a Black scroll edged with a narrow Yellow border and inscribed "LINKING GLOBAL WARFIGHTERS" in Yellow letters.

Attached below the disc, a Black scroll edged with a narrow Yellow border and inscribed "55TH STRATEGIC COMMUNICATIONS SQ" in Yellow letters.


Symbolism

Ultramarine blue and Air Force yellow are the Air Force colors. Blue alludes to the sky, the primary theater of Air Force operations. Yellow refers to the sun and the excellence required of Air Force personnel. The globe represents the global nature of the unit's mission to link warfighting commands across the globe with strategic C-4 capabilities. The eagle in space represents national command and control authorities and the fighting spirit of the United States Air Force applied across all warfighting domains. The four lightning bolts represent the strategic command, control, communication and computer (C-4) capabilities of the unit.
