Description/Blazon

On a disc Azure, four mullets arched to dexter chief Argent, a flight symbol fesswise in honor point Celeste, issuant from sinister base a demi-globe of the like with landmasses Vert and gridlined of the first, environed by a demi-gear wheel Silver Gray, all within a narrow border Yellow.

Attached above the disc, a Blue scroll edged with a narrow Yellow border and inscribed "BELLATORES VIGILANTES" in Yellow letters.

Attached below the disc, a Blue scroll edged with a narrow Yellow border and inscribed "55TH MAINTENANCE OPERATIONS SQ" in Yellow letters.


Symbolism

Ultramarine blue and Air Force yellow are the Air Force colors. Blue alludes to the sky, the primary theater of Air Force operations. Yellow refers to the sun and the excellence required of Air Force personnel. The stars refer to the flights within the Squadron. The flight symbol signifies the unit's support of the aerial mission statement. The globe within a gear wheel symbolizes the support for global maintenance.
