Description/Blazon

On a disc Azure and Sable per bend with globe grid lines overall from honor point to base Or, charged with a lightning flash of the last from dexter chief to sinister base, surmounted by a sword Proper hilted Gules, detailed of the second from dexter base to sinister chief, all within a narrow border Yellow.

Attached above the disc, a Black scroll edged with a narrow Yellow border and inscribed "ALWAYS PREPARED" in Yellow letters.

Attached below the disc, a Black scroll edged with a narrow Yellow border and inscribed "54TH COMBAT COMM SQ" in Yellow letters.


Symbolism

Ultramarine blue and Air Force yellow are the Air Force colors. Blue alludes to the sky, the primary theater of Air Force operations. Yellow refers to the sun and the excellence required of Air Force personnel. The sword represents the combat nature of the mission and clear conscience in its execution. The bold lightning flash signifies the importance of communications to the Air Force mission. The global grid lines remind the unit of the worldwide mission and honor. All elements combined represent the motto, "Always Prepared."
