Symbolism

Ultramarine blue and Air Force yellow are the Air Force colors. Blue alludes to the sky, the primary theater of Air Force operations. Yellow refers to the sun and the excellence required of Air Force personnel. The helmet represents the readiness of security forces to defend the United States. The sword and the shield are from the Air Force creed: "We are our nation's sword and shield, its sentry and avenger." The globe represents the world and comes from the original 65th Air Base Wing patch. The special colors in the patch signify honor, immortality, justice, dignity, wisdom and discretion.
