Description/Blazon

On a disc Azure, a pile throughout Gules fimbriated with lightning flashes Or, charged in chief with a mullet Argent pierced Red and between in base two mullets of the like, all within a diminished border Silver Gray.

Attached below the disc, a Blue scroll edged with a narrow Silver Gray border and inscribed "45TH AIRLIFT SQ" in Silver Gray letters.


Symbolism

Ultramarine blue and Air Force yellow are the Air Force colors. Blue alludes to the sky, the primary theater of Air Force operations. Yellow refers to the sun and the excellence required of Air Force personnel. The lightning flash demotes the Squadron's ability to support the Wing by providing rapid airlift capabilities and training anywhere at all times. The three stars reflect the unit's heritage and its service during World War II.
