Symbolism

Ultramarine blue and Air Force yellow are the Air Force colors. Blue alludes to the sky, the primary theater of Air Force operations. Yellow refers to the sun and the excellence required of Air Force personnel. The globe represents the "launch platform" for all space operations. The snake entwined around the contrail symbolically links the healing arts to space. Taken together, this element represents the entwining of and undeviating course in accomplishing the unit's two major objectives: healing and support of the operational mission of the 45th Space Wing. The six mullets represent the six corps of the Squadron membership: Biological Science Corps, Dental Corps, Medical Corps, Nurse Corps, Medical Service Corps, and Enlisted Corps. They also represent the six flights comprising the Squadron: Bioenvironmental Engineering, Dental, Flight/Missile Medicine, Public Health, Readiness, and Health Promotions.
