Symbolism

Ultramarine blue and Air Force yellow are the Air Force colors. Blue alludes to the sky, the primary theater of Air Force operations. Yellow refers to the sun and the excellence required of Air Force personnel. The covered wagon harkens back to the pioneer days when prairie schooners blazed new trails across the Great Plains, promising a better life for all who dared to make the journey. Today's trailblazers carry on this proud tradition with a winged wagon flying through the clouds, bringing hope to the unit's allies around the globe.
