Symbolism

Ultramarine blue and Air Force yellow are the Air Force colors. Blue alludes to the sky, the primary theater of Air Force operations. Yellow refers to the sun and the excellence required of Air Force personnel. The group of flight symbols in formation suggests the precision with which the wing expounds six of the tenets of aerospace power: resistance, concentration, balance, synergy, priority, and centralized control, decentralized execution. The seventh tenet of aerospace power which the unit exemplifies is flexibility and versatility as reflected by the arched bend.
