Description/Blazon

On a disc Murrey, a terrestrial globe issuant from dexter base Proper, supporting a gryphon in tran aspect, wings elevated and displayed with head reflexed to sinister Argent (Silver Gray), body and tail erect Or, armed of the second, grasping in dexter forepaw two lightning flashes in fess throughout Yellow, all within a narrow border Silver Gray.

Attached above the disc, a Blue scroll edged with a narrow Silver Gray border and inscribed "GRYPHONS" in Silver Gray letters.

Attached below the disc, a Blue scroll edged with a narrow Silver Gray border and inscribed "37TH STUDENT SQUADRON" in Silver Gray letters.


Symbolism

Ultramarine blue and Air Force yellow are the Air Force colors. Blue alludes to the sky, the primary theater of Air Force operations. Yellow refers to the sun and the excellence required of Air Force personnel. The gryphon, with a firm grip on the world, represents global reach. The lightning bolts shooting from its grasp symbolize power.
