Description/Blazon

On a disc per chevron Celeste and Azure, throughout an American bald eagle stooping to dexter Proper encircled by an annulet of chain bearing fifty links Argent, all within a narrow border Yellow.

Attached above the disc, a Blue scroll edged with a narrow Yellow border and inscribed "HONOR INTEGRITY COURAGE" in Yellow letters.

Attached below the disc, a Blue scroll edged with a narrow Yellow border and inscribed "28TH SECURITY FORCES SQ" in Yellow letters.


Symbolism

Ultramarine blue and Air Force yellow are the Air Force colors. Blue alludes to the sky, the primary theater of Air Force operations. Yellow refers to the sun and the excellence required of Air Force personnel. The chevron represents a mountain and symbolizes the unit's unshakeable determination to accomplish the mission. The American bald eagle represents the lethal power with which to strike an adversary with the determination to protect the nation. The unbroken chain symbolizes teamwork and the need for constant 360 degree security. The fifty links represent the individual and combined strength of unit members, as well as the fifty states. The unit motto, "Honor Integrity Courage," denotes the ideals which guide the unit's conduct in the performance of its duties.
