Description/Blazon

Celeste, issuant from base a demi-wizard expanded Gray-bearded Argent eyed Or, habited in a cloak Gules belted and caped Sable wearing a peaked hat of the fifth, brim of the sixth below a wolf's head erased Black garnished Gray, eyed Yellow, armed White and langued Red between an increscent lightning flash in sinister and decrescent flash in dexter, each issuing from the wizard's respective hands of the fourth; all within a diminished bordure of the sixth.

Attached above the disc, a White scroll edged with a narrow Black border and inscribed "8TH OPERATIONS SUPPORT SQ" in Black letters.

Attached below the disc, a White scroll edged with a narrow Black border and inscribed "VENEFICI BELLI" in Black letters.


Symbolism

Blue and yellow are the Air Force colors. Blue alludes to the sky, the primary theater of Air Force operations. Yellow refers to the sun and the excellence required of Air Force personnel. The wizard symbolizes the Squadron's mission of predicting, planning and coordinating operations. The lightning flashes signify the diversity and rapid response of the unit's various functions. The wolf's head alludes to the parent unit's coat of arms and reflects the support provided.
