Description/Blazon

On a disc Azure, a column in base Dark Gray detailed Argent, charged with a cross couped Gules, supporting a Rod of Aesculapius with serpent of the like, langued and eyed Sable and rod of the last; all within a narrow border Yellow.

Attached above the disc, a Blue scroll edged with a narrow Yellow border and inscribed "8TH MEDICAL SUPPORT SQUADRON" in Yellow letters.

Attached below the disc, a Blue scroll edged with a narrow Yellow border and inscribed "KEEPING THE PACK FIT TO FIGHT" in Yellow letters.


Symbolism

Blue and yellow are the Air Force colors. Blue alludes to the sky, the primary theater of Air Force operations. Yellow refers to the sun and the excellence required of Air Force personnel. The column and red cross symbolize support provided to the medical group, indicated by the traditional symbol of the medical profession, the Rod of Aesculapius.
