Description/Blazon

On a disc Sanguine, a staff of Aesculapius, staff Gold Brown, serpent Argent (Silver Gray) between two lightning flashes pilewise Or, three mullets in chief fesswise the center one enhanced; all within a a diminished bordure Yellow.

Attached above the disc, a Blue scroll edged with a narrow Yellow border and inscribed "5th AEROMEDICAL-DENTAL SQ" in Yellow letters.

Attached below the disc, a Blue scroll edged with a narrow Yellow border and inscribed "PREVENTION IS VICTORY" in Yellow letters.


Symbolism

Ultramarine blue and Air Force yellow are the Air Force colors. Blue alludes to the sky, the primary theater of Air Force operations. Yellow refers to the sun and the excellence required of Air Force personnel. The three stars represent the integrity, service and excellence of the unit. The staff of Aesculapius is for the history of medicine. The two lightning flashes are for victory.
