Description/Blazon

Per bend sinister Azure and Vert, a lightning bolt throughout in bend sinister Or. Overall an armored knight mounted on a Pegasus ascending bendwise, wings elevated Argent, harnessed and detailed of the like (Silver Gray). The knight's sinister hand pointing to base and the dexter hand raised chiefward and grasping a sword in bend, point to sinister chief Proper, habited in a robe Sable helmeted of the fourth and eyed of the third; all within a diminished bordure of the fifth.

Attached above the disc, a Blue scroll edged with a narrow Black border and inscribed "1ST AIR SUPPORT OPERATIONS SQ" in Black letters.

Attached below the disc, a Blue scroll edged with a narrow Black border and inscribed with "REAPERS" in Black letters.


Symbolism

Blue and yellow are the Air Force colors. Blue alludes to the sky, the primary theater of Air Force operations. Yellow refers to the sun and the excellence required of Air Force personnel. The green and blue background symbolizes the communications between ground and air. The lightning bolt represents the swiftness of the Squadron in the execution of the mission. The armed mounted knight depicts the Reaper, who wields a sword indicating combat close air support. The helmet and glowing eyes portrays the unit's readiness for battle. The Pegasus symbolizes the power the unit displays over the air and ground in support of their mission.
