Description/Blazon

On a disc Argent, below a wolf's head caboshed and counter changed of the first (Silver Gray) and Sable, langued Gules, eyed and armed of the field, charged and issuing from dexter cheek a bald eagle volant Proper, a demi-globe Azure grid-lined Argent issuing from sinister base; all within a narrow Black border.

Attached above the disc, a Yellow scroll edged with a narrow Black border and inscribed "STRENGTHENING THE FORCE" in Black letters.

Attached below the disc, a Yellow scroll edged with a narrow Black border and inscribed "87TH AEROSPACE MEDICINE SQ" in Black letters.


Symbolism

Ultramarine blue and Air Force yellow are the Air Force colors. Blue alludes to the sky, the primary theater of Air Force operations. Yellow refers to the sun and the excellence required of Air Force personnel. The wolf symbolizes determination, a mighty force and the test of truth. The counter-change, or dark and light division of the wolf, emphasizes the day and night mission requirement of the Squadron. The eagle alludes to the fighting force of the United States Air Force. The globe represents the worldwide medical support provided by the professional personnel of the Squadron. The emblem represents the mission of the 87 AMDS to strengthen the force by optimizing the warfighting capability of the human weapon system.
