Symbolism

Ultramarine blue and Air Force yellow are the Air Force colors. Blue alludes to the sky, the primary theater of Air Force operations. Yellow refers to the sun and the excellence required of Air Force personnel. The two crossed sword-quills on tattered parchment signify those Airmen who gave their last full measure in defense of the Unite States; as well as representing the distinctive power of the written word to contractually harness and focus capabilities onto the prosecution of war and protection of long-lasting peace. The feathered grip is emblematic of the Squadron's military honor and unwavering valor in a contingency contracting environment. The hand guard represents the pursuit of contracting excellence by all 380 ECONS personnel in their contingency contracting contribution. The lamp billowing wings of smoke symbolizes the unit's fierce commitment to integrity and fairness above all else in an unrelenting application of intellect to enable warfighter effects. The 380 ECONS motto is "If You Got It ? We Bought It," signifying how pervasive contracting support is throughout the air base. The underlying concept denotes the Squadron's dedication to fulfill every valid requirement with the right stuff ? on time ? every time.
