Symbolism

Ultramarine blue and Air Force yellow are the Air Force colors. Blue alludes to the sky, the primary theater of Air Force operations. Yellow refers to the sun and the excellence required of Air Force personnel. The divided background refers to the day and night operation of the unit. The pile symbolizes the aerospace program. The bomb centered on the pile symbolizes ordnance and with the sharp point of the pile represents the accuracy of the munitions processes. Radiating from the tip of the pile are lightning bolts which represent the Squadron's ability to modernize its air and space inventories. The lightning bolts further underscore the speed and accuracy with which the ordnance can be deployed.
